When something hideously unjust is happening to a character and you just get so frustrated for them and mad at the people doing stupid stuff that you have to pause the show and take your mind off it for a bit.

I’ve been really down on my art lately, as you may have noticed. I was in class today and feeling totally anxious and depressed instead of relaxed and enthused about drawing. That’s just not cool. I don’t want to be a person who can’t enjoy her own art anymore, or thinks that she can’t do anything.

It may sound strange, but I think sometimes as an artist you need… not exactly cockiness, but confidence enough to keep going, and know that you can make something. That something probably might not be amazing or even very good, but it’s enough for now. I have faith in myself that I will get better, and hopefully I can remember to relax and believe that the things I’m doing now are okay, too. Mistakes and all.

I’m probably going to have to start pushing my art more.

I’m in a weird transitional phase where I’m trying to incorporate a lot of half-digested information from school. I don’t recognize my style or know if I like it. I’ll think I’m satisfied with something only to decide it’s terrible soon after, and even though I think I’m getting better, I doubt myself because it all gets less attention than before.

Maybe if I push it and do my best I’ll be satisfied, even if no one else likes it. At least I’ll know I did what I could do.

Tumblr. What is that gray bit? I want to remake Chell someday because my boots are friggin badass and I can actually walk in them without the heel. They deserve to be used.

Seriously though, that gray thing blows my mind. Is it a shirt? Some elastic pantyhose like thing underneath the blue? WHAT IS IT?!

Pretty sure it’s just stomach, but shaded?

I’m pretty sure it’s a back support, after all the boots can only do so much.

Okay, this is as best as I can tell.

I’m not 100% certain of the shorts, but that’s what I think. The sports bra I AM 99% certain of though, since at certain angles you can see where the band ends under her tank top on her model.

I kinda wish I was one of those people who posted whatever they want no matter what other people think. I’ve sorta fallen into one of those states where I’ve begun to feel like I shouldn’t post what I’m drawing, since it seems like most of my followers aren’t enjoying it as much as I am.
